Terrence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez is just about a week away, scheduled for next Saturday (Sept. 13, 2025) at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ahead of their highly-anticipated collision, one of the biggest question marks is how Crawford will handle the size and power of Alvarez. Much of Crawford’s success has come at Light Welterweight and Welterweight, but he’s moving up to Canelo’s
home weight class of Super Middleweight for this contest.
There’s a 21-pound difference between Welterweight (where “Bud” was once undisputed champion) to Super Middleweight, where Canelo is currently king. Crawford has fought as high as 154-pounds in the past, but it’s still a big jump to 168-pounds.
Earlier on Friday, Crawford posted the above picture on Instagram showing off his new Super Middleweight physique, and “Bud” looks jacked! Clearly, the counter puncher has put on some size in preparation for this bout. Perhaps that will push the odds even closer?
Between Crawford vs. Canelo and Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva, Mexican Independence Day combat sports celebrations are going to be must-watch.
