Girona boss Michel has fuelled speculation about a possible move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen this winter.
The rumor mill has claimed that Girona are willing to go all out to sign the Germany international on loan when the January window opens.
Ter Stegen has lost his place in the starting XI at Barca to Joan Garcia and needs regular football if he wants to be Germany’s No. 1 at World Cup 2026.
Michel has now been asked about the speculation at the Catalan Football Federation gala
and was happy to see Girona linked with the goalkeeper.
“He is a top player, everyone would like to have a player like that,” he said.
The latest speculation claims that Girona would love to have Ter Stegen for the rest of the season but can’t afford to pay all his wages for the rest of the campaign.
Yet Barca may be willing to do some kind of deal, if Ter Stegen is interested in a move, meaning this is definitely not the last we’ve heard of this rumor just yet.
