After a summer of big signings followed by a sensational start to the season, Barcelona fans have high hopes for what to come in Hansi Flick’s third season in charge.
Flick’s boss is excited too, as president Joan Laporta
talked about the possibility of achieving a historic Quadruple of Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup titles this season.The president said that “this year we’ve set ourselves the goal of winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the Supercopa, and the Champions
League, and therefore this requires maximum concentration and focus. And always keeping in mind the team spirit, which is what the players have to do, and that will lead us to win titles.”
Barça have won the men’s Treble twice in their history but haven’t won all four titles in the same season since the new format of the Supercopa was introduced.
And while winning the lot isn’t easy, it’s worth remembering the Catalans won the domestic treble and were seconds away from the Champions League final in Flick’s first season, so the task is certainly not impossible.
