While there isn’t much positivity about the Seattle Seahawks from fans following the team’s blowout loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday, that hasn’t slowed confidence from oddsmakers ahead of their Week 9 game.
According to the current odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, the Seahawks enter their second game against the Arizona Cardinals as 10.5-point favorites (-110), with Seattle’s moneyline is set at -650, while Arizona’s sits at +480. The over/under line for the game is 44.5, indicating that the Seahawks,
now 4-4, are more than likely headed for another defensive slogfest against the Cardinals.
The man trusted to score those points for the Cardinals will be none other than Washington State alum Gardner Minshew, who brought his patented good vibes to Arizona in the team’s second-half upset of the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. Minshew ignited a spark in the Cardinals’ offense, which helped them score the most points, 33, that they’ve scored in a game all year. Arizona’s gutsy win in overtime against the Dallas Cowboys lifted them to 3-5 on the season.
Aside from Minshew, running back Tyler Allgier had a career day after taking over for rookie Jeremiyah Love. The journeyman quarterback’s favorite target was Michael Wilson, who willed his team to a win with two broken ribs. The health of Wilson may be paramount to the Cardinals’ offense as he offers a second option for Minshew when superstar tight end Trey McBride is covered.
While the Cardinals beat up on a reeling Cowboys’ defense, a trip to Seattle to play Mike Macdonald’s unit is an entirely different story. This unit held the Cardinals to 7 points in Week 2 and stifled much of Arizona’s run game.
However, the story of these two teams’ early meeting was the Seahawks’ offense, which totaled 24 points in the second half after a slow start. Seattle, which was led by Drew Lock at the time, was led by their offensive engine, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN totaled three touchdowns and 155 yards in that game, a performance the struggling Seahawks would love to see again.
Unlike most of their games in 2026, the Seahawks had success on the ground in Week 2 with Emmanuel Wilson running for 92 yards and rookie Jadarian Price adding 52 yards. With Zach Charbonnet back, this matchup looks on paper to be the perfect bounce-back after they struggled to do much of anything on the ground against Chicago.
With the pressure turned up on the .500 Seahawks, the oddsmakers appear to predict they’ll storm back with a win over their underdog story division rivals. That result would certainly be a welcome change of pace for Seahawks fans after a roller coaster three-straight primetime stretch.
