Just a day after players returned to The Bolt for locker clean out day, the Chargers announced a list of 14 players they are signing to reserve/future contracts.
The most notable names on the list are receiver Dalevon Campbell, tight end Tanner McLachlan, and running back Amar Johnson.
The other 10 players include longsnapper Peter Bowden, defensive lineman TeRah Edwards, wideouts Luke Grimm and JaQuae Jackson, linebacker Emany Johnson, center Josh Kaltenberger, edge rusher Gardmon Randolph, 2025 sixth-round
pick Branson Taylor, cornerback Isas Waxter, quarterback DJ Uiagaleilei, and tight end Thomas Yassmin.
Campbell showed out enough during the 2025 preseason that the Carolina Panthers at one point sniped him off the Chargers practice squad during the season, but he was ultimately released and re-signed by LA.
McLachlan is a former draft pick of the Bengals that unfortunately did not pan out for them, but the Chargers have recently found success with âFâ tight ends who can stretch the field. While at Arizona, McLachlan was an impact player for the Wildcats.
Johnson spent the 2025 preseason with the Packers where he put together a standout performance that included a touchdown run of over 40 yards. He was called up to the active roster for multiple games while the Chargers were dealing with injuries at the position.
