(#12)Clemson at Georgia Tech
Noon, ESPN
Clemson needed a couple big plays in the second half to avoid an upset against Troy last week. Now they have to hit the road to face the upset kings. Haynes King, one of the most underrated players in college football, is expected to be on the field after questions about his availability all week. His presence could go a long ways towards yet another victory over a ranked opponent for Georgia Tech.
Prediction: Georgia Tech-21, Clemson-20
(#6)Georgia at (#15)Tennessee
3:30 p.m., ABC
An old-school rivalry will have some extra heat as both teams look for a leg up in a wide-open SEC race. Both teams have questions on offense, but could help provide some answers with a big output. The ‘Dawgs will especially be out to prove they can move the ball after a ‘24 season filled with ineffective receiver play and struggles to move the ball on the ground.
Prediction: Georgia-24, Tennessee-21
(#18)South Florida at (#5)Miami
4:30, CW Network
USF is off to a spectacular start, pounding Boise State in week one, then following it up with another upset over Florida. They look for three in a row as they head to the Orange Bowl. This will be the stiffest challenge yet, considering how dominant Miami looked on both lines of scrimmage against Notre Dame. They certainly look far more physical than the recent ‘Canes teams that were more pretender than contender.
Prediction: Miami-30, USF-21
Florida vs. LSU
7:30 p.m., ABC
The Gators struggled to get off the ground as they dropped a game to USF last week. Now they look to bounce back against the #3 team in the nation. LSU is looking to prove they are for real, as the week one victory over Clemson may not be quite the indicator of greatness it seemed to be in week one.
Prediction: LSU-28, Florida-21
(#16)Texas A&M vs. (#8)Notre Dame
7:30 p.m., NBC/Peacock
This is close to a must-win for Notre Dame in just their second game of the season. An 0-2 start would mean that the Irish would basically need to finish 10-0 the rest of the way, and may still need help with no conference championship to get them into the playoffs. The Notre Dame offensive line struggled to protect new starting quarterback CJ Carr against Miami. The Aggies defensive line is among the best in the nation, which could once again spell trouble for the Golden Domers.
Prediction: Texas A&M-20, Notre Dame-17
Vanderbilt at (#11)South Carolina
7:45 p.m., SECN
Vandy is seeking another storybook season, and may very well be on their way. Quarterback Diego Pavia is one of the most entertaining playmakers in the nation, and will give them a chance against a strong but young Gamecocks defense. At least the defense is well ahead of the offense, that is still trying to find its footing to become a playoff contender.
Prediction: Vanderbilt-31, South Carolina-27
