The NFL announced on Tuesday that Indianapolis Colts star workhorse Jonathan Taylor has earned ‘AFC Offensive Player of the Week’ for a consecutive week after another monstrous rushing performance against
the Tennessee Titans on the road this past weekend:
In a lopsided winning effort, Taylor had 17 carries for 102 rushing yards and 3 total rushing touchdowns, including this impressive 46-yard touchdown run against the Titans with 1:36 left in the third quarter:
Also having 3 receptions for 16 total receiving yards, he was clearly the focal point of the Colts offense. He was also a huge reason why the Colts were able to pull away from the Titans in an initially tight divisional game with a lot of field goals being attempted, that was close on the margins.
Taylor began right where he left off against the Titans last year, as he had 29 carries for 218 total rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns against them last December—also then earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
It’s the 5th time that Taylor has earned such honors in his already highly prolific Colts rushing career, and he’s the most recent Indianapolis player to do so since he did it himself… well, last week.
Taylor currently leads the league in carries (60), rushing yards (338), and rushing touchdowns (3), as he’s so far been unquestionably the best running back in football after three weeks. It’s been great to see!
