I don’t have any tumors, but I do have a few rumors.
Top Rumor of the Day: Mick Foley plans
Mick Foley is finally All Elite, and that means we can start asking even more questions about just what Tony Khan’s plans for The Hardcore Legend actually are. How often is he going to be around? Will he be a heavily featured part of the show? Might he actually dare to wrestle another match, as ill advised as that would be?
Well, PW Insider has at least some answers — they were told Foley will “be around regularly.” That won’t include Philadelphia
this week but beyond that all signs point to his being a regular presence on AEW television moving forward.
As for a match, though, there’s no word on if that’s in play or not. They speculate if it happens it would be a long build to one final match but they also caution against it considering Foley’s age and physical condition. It’s hard to argue with that.
A match against MJF would certainly draw but the juice simply isn’t worth the squeeze there. We shall see.
Other rumors floating around
- Fightful Select brings word that some within WWE believe the story of Ludwig Kaiser defending his significant other after the man he got into an altercation with made an ICE comment was a “planted” story. Having said that, there is no heat on Kaiser backstage and those within the company expect the charges to be dismissed.
- Here’s a fun one: former WWE writer Chris Dunn claimed on the Public Enemies Podcast that there was once a pitch for a rebooted nWo that would have included Sheamus, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Lars Sullivan in the group. Allegedly, a “legendary” member of the group was supposed to fly to Orlando to introduce the new nWo and then couldn’t pass a Covid test.
- Per Rope Break, Je’Von Evans continues receiving high praise from both executives and talent backstage at WWE. Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch have even been spending time with him.
- Ricky Sosa has been absent from TNA because he was given time off to deal with a personal matter back home, says PW Insider.
Get in on this, y’all.
