Joan Garcia only joined Barcelona from Espanyol in the summer but has already impressed and has now been handed his first La Liga monthly award for his new club.
The Barcelona goalkeeper has claimed the Save of the Month prize for August after catching the eye with a brilliant stop in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.
Garcia made five saves in total during the match, but it was his excellent block from Andrei Rațiu that has won the most votes this month.
The goal prevented Rayo from going ahead, with Barcelona taking the lead through Lamine Yamal’s penalty. However, Rayo did manage to hit back and secure a 1-1 draw, with Garcia named MVP at the final whistle.
It’s the second monthly award for Barcelona on August. Pedri has also walked off the with Goal of the Month prize for his great strike against Levante.
