Greetings, BBN!
The Top State this week is a clear-cut, no-doubter, and so is the Bottom State. If you asked me which state had the worst Week 3, I’d send you to South Carolina, particularly to the cities of Clemson and Columbia. The Clemson Tigers lost at Georgia Tech to jeopardize their playoff hopes and sink to 1-2 on the season, and the South Carolina Gamecocks got run out of their own stadium by the Vanderbilt Commodores, who typically don’t run anybody out of any stadiums.
Not a good time to
be a college football fan in the Palmetto State. Even the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers lost. An 0-3 week for the state they’d like to soon forget.
Who were the top states of the week, though? Well, Carolina’s misfortune was Georgia’s glee, because the Yellow Jackets hit the jackpot and some certain Bulldogs put on a show in Knoxville in one of the most epic games of the season!
The Bottom State: South Carolina
As mentioned in the intro, the once kings of the ACC have their dynasty in flames and ashes, and the Sandstorm was playing in an empty Williams-Brice stadium as the 4th quarter started with the game already decided. It remains to be seen how the Tigers and Gamecocks will finish up, but one thing’s clear—the Palmetto State does not look like it’s going to represent the CFP if they keep playing like this.
The Top State: Georgia

A walk-off field goal for the Yellow Jackets and a walk-off overtime touchdown for the Bulldogs! Couldn’t have had it any better in the Peach State in Week 3! Both teams were playing highly-ranked opponents in bright shades of orange, and both had the last word and the last points as they stayed undefeated and scored huge wins. Even the three small Georgia schools won, giving the state a 5-0 sweep on the week, with Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, and Georgia State all winning too!
Thus, Georgia is the Top State for Week 3 of the 2025 college football season, winning in walk-off fashion in conference play.
