Julian Alvarez’s future continues to make headlines during World Cup 2026 as talk of a transfer to Barcelona continues to keep the rumor mill churning.
The very latest update comes from Diario Sport and news that Atletico have set one huge condition when it comes to Alvarez and Barcelona.
The report claims that Los Colchoneros “would only accept a sale to Barça for 150 million euros in cash.” Atleti are not interested in any other kind of deal and “there will be no margin to negotiate deferred payments
or to lower the price by including players in the operation.”
There’s been talk about potential interest from Atletico in Marc Casado or Ferran Torres but Diego Simeone’s side are not interested in any player being included in any potential transfer. There’s also been speculation that Barca won’t go as high as 150m euros for Alvarez this summer.
Atletico really don’t want to sell Alvarez to Barcelona but are in a tricky position after the Argentina international went public with his desire to leave during the World Cup.
Sport say Atletico would be potentially willing to leave Alvarez go in a cash-plus-player deal to Arsenal but only because they would quite like Viktor Gyokeres to come in and replace the Argentine.
So tell us what you think, culers. Is it time for Barcelona to get the deal done and offer 150 million euros for Alvarez? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
