The Washington Commanders are elevating WR Robbie Chosen and DT Sheldon Day from the practice squad for tomorrow’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. This is the first elevation of the season for both players.
The Commanders placed Noah Brown on IR earlier this week, ruled Terry McLaurin(quad) out today, and ruled Deebo Samuel(heel) out earlier today. They are hurting at the position, and will now only have four receivers available for tomorrow’s game. Chosen joins Chris Moore, Luke McCaffrey, rookie Jaylin Lane on the active roster. Sheldon Day gets his first elevation of the season, and this comes after Washington released DT Jalyn Holmes. The Commanders were missing Eddie Goldman due to illness last week, and their run game suffered. Day and Goldman will give them more size in the middle, as opposed to Holmes and Johnny Newton last week.
The Commanders have activated two players off of their injured lists. Sam Cosmi had surgery in January to repair a torn ACL, and he is now back on the 53-man roster. He had his 21-day practice window opened to return from the Reserve/PUP list on October 1st, and had until next Wednesday to get activated. He was a full participant in practice all week, and Dan Quinn was very positive about how he looked in practice.
Jonathan Jones has missed the last four games due to a hamstring injury. His 21-day practice window was opened on Wednesday, and he’s already been activated. Jones will return to the secondary, and give them more depth at the position.
The Dallas Cowboys are elevating RB Malik Davis from the practice squad, and activating CB Caelon Carson from injured reserve. WR Jonathan Mingo is staying on injured reserve for another week. The Cowboys are also expected to get WRs CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin back for tomorrow’s game, along with G Tyler Smith. CB Trevon Diggs was ruled out of the game after an injury at home.
