Barcelona midfielder Pedri is looking forward to Wednesday’s monster Champions League match against PSG, as Barça face their biggest test of the season so far.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday,
Pedri was asked if Barça are out for revenge after being knocked out of the Champions League by PSG two seasons ago and after last year’s heartbreaking semi-final defeat against Inter Milan, and Pedri made it very clear that the team is focused on avenging those losses and writing a new successful chapter in Europe’s top competition.
Pedri also analyzed the match and thinks Barça are capable of competing for possession against a PSG side that also loves to have the ball, and the midfielder is relishing the opportunity to test himself against one of the best teams in the world.
“All of us who are Barça fans want to get that revenge. Next year you can achieve what you left behind, and we all want to play in these games.
“It’s a match in which both teams will want to have possession. We’re a brave team, and I think we’ll be able to do it. I think it’s one of the best matches you can play at club level. Paris is one of the best in the world, and I think we’re the best. It’ll be a great match.”
Pedri has undoubtedly been the best midfielder in the world this season, and arguably the best player in any position, and his performance alongside Frenkie de Jong in the Barça midfield figures to be crucial for the Blaugrana’s success in this one.
