Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara didn’t practice Monday in Tualatin due to knee soreness, head coach Chauncey Billups told reporters, adding he wasn’t sure if Camara would be available for Tuesday night’s preseason home game against the Golden State Warriors.
If Camara is cleared to play, Billups won’t have any hesitation playing him during Portland’s final two preseason games on Tuesday or Thursday.
“If he can play, I want him to play,” the coach said.
Camara didn’t play during the second
half of Portland’s 124-123 preseason win against the Sacramento Kings on Friday due to the same knee issue. He played just 14 minutes that night, producing three points, two rebounds, one assist and a steal while shooting 1-3 from the floor.
“His knee was a little sore,” Billups said after the game regarding why Camara stayed on the bench after halftime.
In Portland’s 129-123 loss to the Warriors in the preseason opener last week, Camara was a bright spot. He produced 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 20 minutes.
The Blazers tip off against those same Warriors on Tuesday at the Moda Center at 7 p.m. PDT.
