Good morning, baseball fans!

At long last, the Women’s Professional Baseball League kicks off their inaugural season tomorrow! The first game will be between the Los Angeles Queens and New York Heights.

The San Francisco Firebells are scheduled to begin their season on Sunday against the Boston Hunters. Left-hander Niki Eckert is scheduled to start for the Firebells, with right-hander Maïka Dumais scheduled to start for Boston.

As of right now, the WPBL website does not have streaming information available.

Earlier this week, I saw that ESPN was in the process of setting up a streaming deal for at least some of the games, so that might be why they have not updated that just yet. Keep an eye on the WPBL’s website for more updates on that front.

In the meantime, here is the schedule for the Firebells for the first week of the season:

Sunday, August 2nd @ Boston – 4:30 p.m. PT

Monday, August 6th vs. New York – 4:30 p.m. PT

Tuesday, August 7th @ Los Angeles – 4:30 p.m. PT

Wednesday, August 8th vs. Los Angeles – 4:30 p.m. PT

As a reminder, all games are being played at a “neutral” location (neutral to the East Coast teams, maybe) at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois. So if any of you are local to that area (or want to travel), tickets are still available for Sunday’s season opener for the Firebells.
