It’s the start of a new college basketball season, and this one feels like it could be pivotal for the Carolina men’s program.
It’s hard to imagine Hubert Davis won’t be shown the door if he delivers another
underwhelming season. It’s nearly impossible to imagine how a search for his replacement would unfold under the new administration, and I’m sure we’re all hoping we won’t have to find out.
A strong performance against Central Arkansas would certainly help ease those fears. Tar Heels fans have had to sweat out November tune-up games a bit too often during Davis’ tenure, with last season’s opener against Elon being the most recent example. Now in his fifth season at the helm, does Davis have the ability to keep a team full of new faces focused on the opponent in front of them, and not the one coming to town on Friday?
