Andreas Christensen is into the final year of his contract at Barcelona and there’s been no talk of a contract extension for the Denmark international as yet.
Christensen has publicly said he’s eager to continue at Barcelona and wants to stay in Catalunya, but it remains to be seen what will happen next summer.
Deco has been asked about the situation and said the club are yet to make a decision on the former Chelsea defender.
“We’re taking Andreas step by step. He had a spectacular first year. Then
injuries have affected him quite a bit,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“We’ll see how he does this season and we’ll talk. He’s a great player. We don’t have to renew all the players in October either.
Christensen has been in good form since returning to full fitness at the end of last season. However, it looks like he’ll have to continue that form and stay injury free if he is to earn another contract at Barca.
