The New Orleans Saints have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars star RB Travis Etienne to a lucrative four-year, $52 million deal, bringing the Jennings, LA native closer to home—a priority for the veteran during free agency. In the process, New Orleans adds desperately needed juice to its backfield while continuing to build around franchise quarterback Tyler Shough.
In his final season with the Jags, the 27-year-old posted his third 1,000-yard rushing campaign in four years with the franchise. Since
2022, his 256 combined touchdowns and first downs rank eighth among running backs, according to Pro Football Focus.
Etienne’s 2025 season stats: 1,107 rushing yards (with a long of 71 and 28 runs of over 10 yards) on 260 attempts, along with seven rushing touchdowns. He also added 36 receptions on 52 targets for 292 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
The former Clemson Tiger and first-round pick adds the burst the Saints have lacked at the running back position in recent seasons and now gives Kellen Moore a dynamic offensive playmaker.
