He may have missed three games, but Jalen Carter was back terrorizing opponents, on both defense and special teams in Week 17, and he won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week as a result. The Eagles DT
had procedures on both shoulders several weeks ago, leading to his recent absence, but he seemed to have his full range of motion back as he stretched up to block a point after kick on Sunday in Buffalo.
Carter has continued to make a huge impact on special teams this season, and along with Jordan Davis, have kept a lot of points off the board. This is the first career player of the week award for Carter, and is the second time an Eagles’ defensive player won for special teams — Davis earned the honor in Week 3.
Carter is also now the fourth Philly player to win a player of the week award. (Unsurprisingly all of the winners this season have been defensive guys.)
