Bonjour mes chers! Laissez les bon temps rouler! Happy Mardi Gras! I’ll have my Louisiana music (playlist linked) playing all day to get me ready for shrimp po-boys and king cake tonight with the family. I’ve mentioned it before, I feel a particular connection to my mother’s Louisiana roots. The Krewe of Arsenal, the New Orleans Arsenal supporters group, are a great bunch. Every year, they celebrate GoonerGras, their own unique blend of Mardi Gras partying and Arsenal supporting. I’d highly recommend
stopping by Finn McCool’s to catch a match if you’re in NoLA and the timing works out.
The Champions League knockouts start today. Here is the schedule.
Last night, I nicked my thumb preparing dinner, so typing is going to be difficult for me for a little while. I’m fine. Didn’t need to even go to urgent care, but my finger is wrapped and slightly shorter for the moment. Opposable thumbs are great and having limited use of one of them is annoying.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson. He was central in the Civil Rights movement and was a seminal figure for Black Americans. His refrain “I am somebody” still resonates today.
