Bayern Munich made a silent yet effective summer transfer and acquired a 29 year-old Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. While it was not met with the most affectionate reactions, Tah has earned every bit of praise and love from the fans since he donned the Bavarian shirt. In his very first season in Munich, Tah has achieved a fabulous passing feat in the UEFA Champions League.
Per the football stat keeper, OptaFranz , Jonathan Tah is the most precise passer in the league phase of the Champions League
with a 97% accuracy. Surpassing some sensational talent across Europe, Tah has been a vital cog in the Bavarian machine. His accuracy and stability has been at the core of the lethal attacks and rock solid defenses to shut out the opposition. Add to this, in the map below you can observe the sheer range of the player, leaving very few passes that he hasn’t pinged the ball over to.
Tah has grown sharper under Kompany
Xabi Alonso had done great work on the defender and improved his overall skills. Under Vincent Kompany, Tah has taken it one notch higher and is perhaps in the form of his career. Turning into Bayern’s rock in defense, the German has proven to be one of the best summer transfers so far this season. Comparing his current season with the previous one, Tah has made improvements in pass accuracy as well as in defense. Being at the heart of a sizzling Bayern Munich side, he has adapted well to Bayern’s strong ground passing game and tactics.
Surprise Bavarian contender
The Champions League saw another Bayern player in the top ten accurate passers list per Statmuse. A young player who is slowly turning the midfield position into his own. The Bayern faithful will love to hear that it is none other than Aleksander Pavlović. Completing 663 passes with a 95.5 percent accuracy, Pavlo has the highest passes in the top ten. Despite this, the 21 year-old continues to discover his complete self and has shown that a lot more is to come.
