The Reds had some substitute action only in Nations League A. Rio Ngumoha came on off the bench for England in what was an already-settled 2-0 win against a Czechia side that played with 10 men for the majority of the match following a 23rd minute Pavel Šulc straight red card. The young winger looked sharp during the closing period, where England enjoyed the lions share of possession and largely looked to be having fun.
Similarly, Víctor Muñoz came off the bench for the final 30 minutes for Spain,
replacing MOTM Lamine Yamal in the 4-1 win over Croatia. Spain played with a level of dominance that meant the 4-1 actually flattered Croatia, and though Muñoz didn’t accrue any highlights himself it’s no bad thing to play some minutes in a team flowing this well.
At the youth level Liverpool senior internationals had more of a say on proceedings, as Trey Nyoni managed an assist for England U20s as the Young Lions won 2-1 against France in the Euro Elite League. Nyoni played in Mikey Moore for England’s winning goal before being substituted on 60 minutes, having thus become the Three Lions’ youngest player to make a competitive appearance.
