Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the festivities last night, Nebraska’s bowl game notwithstanding. The new year has started off with the familiar cries here at the Shearer household, mainly by the twins. Take your pick as to whether it’s Briscoe or Helen causing me the issues. All I know is I still have to get up in the middle of the night to feed the youngsters. One day soon enough, I’ll be told I can sleep a full 8 hours again.
My resolution for 2026 is this, to make sure that you
don’t lose brain cells from anything I post. I would also like to say feel free to ignore the joke of the week on Thursday Flakes as they will most assuredly do just that. I’ve enjoyed the last three years of being a writer here and look forward to serving you in 2026. There are definitely some days/nights and articles that are happier than others, but here’s to hopefully continued/renewed success in all Husker endeavors. Here are your flakes…
