After a long October’s journey into, well, still October, we have our World Series matchup. It’ll be Rays vs. Brewers, Tampa Bay dispatching the Guardians with relative ease last night to win the third pennant in franchise history. As shocking as it may seem on the surface, with each side playing for its first ever title, in the context of this season it’s really only a total surprise to those who weren’t paying much attention all along. The Rays and Brewers paced their respective leagues for almost
the entire year, earned number-one seeds at the end of the regular season, and now will deservedly play for the championship.
On the site this morning, Madison will recap what went down in Game 6 last night. Also, Josh keeps our report card series going with a review of Paul Blackburn’s wonderful 2026 campaign, and Andrés writes up the one and only Mickey Mantle, precisely 95 years after the day of Mantle’s birth. And later, John discusses his experience attending 20 Yankees home games this year.

Questions/Prompts:
1. If you can hold to the side your particular like (or dislike) for either team, how excited are you for a Brewers/Rays World Series just on the basis of the quality of the teams, and their styles of play?
2. What was the best (define best however you want) series of the playoffs to this point?
