In the past few days I have now googled two different sports related questions and been given wrong answers by the AI response that now comes at the top of every page.
The first one was googling the Husker Men’s Basketball game against BYU at 12:30pm on Saturday. According to the AI search BYU had won the game. However, I knew that the game had only started at noon and that it couldn’t possibly be over. When I switched over to the Husker Athletics website I saw that it was still the first half and the teams
were tied. And now we all know that BYU did not in fact win that game.
The second was when I was googling the Big Ten Volleyball Awards for the week. The AI version said that Andi Jackson shared her Defensive Player of The Week award with Iowa’s Abby Nwankpa. But when looking at the Big Ten website, I saw that she did not share the award at all. Also, I did some more research and looked at the Iowa Volleyball roster and found no such player with that name. I did see that Iowa Football’s Xavier Nwankpa was named defensive player of the week and I think that is probably where the mix up came in.
So the lesson here is never trust the AI overview when using google.
Now onto your flakes.
