MarJon Beauchamp, who the Portland Trail Blazers recently signed to a training camp deal before promptly waiving him, may be landing with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Keith Pompey:
If everything
goes as expected, MarJon Beauchamp will sign a contract with the Sixers. Sources have said the 6-foot-6 small forward has agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Sixers. However, a team source said it is not official yet. The source said the Portland Trail Blazers are still involved. The Blazers waived Beauchamp on Tuesday, one week after signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal.
The 6’6” wing – who has played for the Bucks, Clippers, and Knicks – has had a checkered career since being selected 24th overall in the 2022 by the Milwaukee Bucks. Finley Kuehl of Brew Hoop writes that Beauchamp’s career has been one of disappointment and unfilled potential, and with his preference for being the primary creator in a league that would prefer him in a supporting role, that he may not be long for he NBA:
Ultimately, the Beauchamp experiment in Milwaukee ended with him being flipped to the Clippers in exchange for Kevin Porter Jr. last February, which has looked like a major steal for the Bucks so far. MarJon played just three games for LA, and they waived him in less than a month. He latched on with the Knicks after that, inking a two-way deal that saw him log 2.8 MPG late in the 2024–25 regular season. Going there probably wasn’t the best decision for him— Tom Thibodeau infamously ignores bench guys. Still, he stayed with New York for the 2025 Summer League, where he showed out statistically, averaging 14.8 PPG. However, in those games, he was acting like a star, taking on heavy on-ball duties and hunting difficult shots. That’s just not what teams will want to see from him at this point, but he seemingly hasn’t realized it yet.
Beauchamp has career averages of 4.1 points and 1.9 boards on 43% shooting in 10.9 minutes per game.
