Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Packers fans and fans across the country.
In Week 5, the Green Bay Packers will play their second game within the NFC North division this season. The first such game did not go well for the Packers, as they continued last season’s trend of blowing big leads. A Week 1 visit to Minnesota saw Green Bay take a 22-10 lead late in the third quarter before allowing 29 straight points
as the Vikings pulled away for a commanding victory.
The Packers now sit 0-1 in their divisional games with five remaining, and next up are the Chicago Bears, who come into Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon. Chicago will be starting backup quarterback Tyson Bagent in that game, but Bagent and third stringer Case Keenum have each led the Bears to wins over the past two weeks.
If Green Bay can find a way to win on Sunday, it would significantly shake up the perceived balance of power in the NFC North. The Packers are 2-2 overall right now, just one game behind the 3-1 Bears for second in the division, but a Green Bay victory would draw the two teams level and it would give Green Bay an important head-to-head tiebreaker.
Two weeks after this upcoming game, the Packers will wrap up the first round of matchups with a trip to Detroit in Week 7. They then host the Vikings in Week 10 before heading back to Chicago on Christmas Day in Week 16 and concluding the season at home against the Lions.
Those are five big opportunities still ahead to make a big statement in the division. With the Packers’ first game in their “Rivalries” uniform on deck this week, we want to know how Packers fans think the team will end up faring in divisional games when all is said and done. Do they find a way to get to .500 on the season by going 3-2 in the final five divisional games? Could they sweep one or two of their other rivals and actually get above .500?
Last season, the Packers swept the Lions, but split with the Vikings and Bears in the regular season to finish with a 4-2 divisional record. The year before, however, they managed to go 11-6 despite a brutal 1-5 result in the NFC North. So which will it be this year? Let us know in the poll and the comments below.
