The Cleveland Browns will play their first of two consecutive preseason home games when they take on the Buffalo Bills this afternoon in downtown Cleveland.
It is a big day for the Browns as quarterback Shedeur Sanders gets the starting nod, with Deshaun Watson expected to take over in the third quarter. Time is running short for head coach Todd Monken to decide who will be the starting quarterback, and the game should be the last opportunity for Sanders and Watson to make a good impression.
Given
that it is the preseason and the Browns and Bills held a joint practice on Thursday, it is expected to be an afternoon of watching the second- and third-team players doing their thing, although Monken did say that some of Cleveland’s younger starters may see the field. It could be sloppy at times, but it will also be good to see if the Browns have any reliable depth across the offense and defense.
