Bayern Munich rarely rests goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but when it does, Jonas Urbig is there to ensure the squad is in good hands.
In Bayern Munich’s 5-0 win over VfB Stuttgart, the youngster was excellent in holding down the fort against a dangerous offensive team. Afterward, Urbig was happy with how it all played out.
“We showed a very good performance today. It was a tough game up until the 60th minute, but we then subbed on fresh players who did extremely well, found the space, and we deservedly
won the game,“ said Urbig (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Urbig also let fans in on a little secret — he did not know until a few hours before the game that he would be starting.
“This morning at 11. I’m always ready to help the team. We prepare together within our goalkeeping team, and the coach decides who plays,” Urbig said when asked how early he knew he would get the nod.
What a showing for the goalkeeper, who has risen to the occasion whenever called upon this season.
