Chad Gable’s quest for redemption after losing his mask and identity as the Original Grande Americano continues this Monday on Raw as he steps into the ring to face Rusev.
“This Monday, Rusev is the first stop on a very important path I’ve defined for myself,” Gable wrote Saturday on X as he thanked fans for their acceptance while inviting them to join him on this ride.
Gable’s charade as a faux luchador ended at AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes after losing to El Grande Americano. Since then, he has apologized to several of the luchadores he offended with his year-long ruse, including Penta and his brother Rey Fenix.
He also apologized to Rey Mysterio, whom he later rescued from a 2-on-1 beating at the hands of Ethan Page and Rusev. During the assault, Rusev unmasked the Hall of Famer. Gable then hit the ring, chasing the heels off before returning the mask to Mysterio.
Gable’s comeback story is just part of what’s shaping up to be a big night as the semifinals of the King and Queen of the Ring begin. Oba Femi takes on Dominik Mysterio, and Iyo Sky battles Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez.
Roman Reigns will also appear live. Last Friday, the OTC sent Jacob Fatu to SmackDown to bring Solo Sikoa back to the Bloodline. Sikoa told Fatu that if Reigns wants him to “come back home,” Reigns needs to come and get him.
Following a two-week tour of Europe, Raw returns to the U.S. and its normal time slot this Monday, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Netflix.
