Alvarado’s appearance last night probably solidified what Don Mattingly is thinking in the playoffs. He and Alex McFarlane are going to be the bridges to Jhoan Duran. Jonathan Bowlan looks like he is struggling to handle to pressure as it continues to mount with each appearance that gets closer to September, so maybe those are the two that get leaned on.

- The Phillies have had a really good offensive approach since the All-Star break. Can they keep it up during the playoffs against better pitching ($)?
- Bryson Stott is still considered the young guy on the infield, but he’s pretty much a (good) finished product.
- Trea Turner hasn’t had a good season, but he can still help the team as he heats up a bit heading into the final few weeks ($).

- Luis Robert was apparently more popular as a waiver claim than he was as a trade candidateas four different teams put in a claim on him.
- Salvador Perez, an icon in Kansas City, isn’t sure yet if he’ll retire, taking it year by year.I am of the same approach.
