Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany had total respect for Sporting CP prior to his team’s 3-1 victory over the Portuguese powerhouse in the Champions League.
Afterward, the coach still held Sporting
CP in high regard, but also took a moment to praise his phenom, Lennart Karl, and Canadian star Alphonso Davies, who made his season debut.
“Sporting are a tough opponent; they’re in the Champions League top eight for a reason. We stayed calm after going behind. Lennart is always dangerous. To be honest, he’s had better games for us, but he’s always there. When he gets his moments, he’s just a ‘killer’. That’s important for us. We’re happy that Phonzy is back; it took nine months. These are good moments for us,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The scary thing is that Bayern Munich is only getting stronger at this point. Once Davies gets fully up to speed and Jamal Musiala returns, this squad could be lethal.
