We have one more game before the international break, and it’s tomorrow night at nearby Brentford, which technically makes this yet another West London Derby. But our main concern right now are injuries, which appear to be piling up a bit.
While Xabi Alonso specifically didn’t rule anybody out in his press conference earlier today, it seems unlikely that any of the subject of concern would suddenly make a good enough recovery to feature — especially with a two-week break to follow. João Pedro, for
example, has already been withdrawn from the Brazil squad, so it would be pretty strange to then have him play on Friday still.
So, presumably that means that none of JP, Reece James, Moisés Caicedo, Jordan Henderson, or Marco Palestra will be available, though they’re on the voting form below if you’re of the hopeful (or less risk averse) persuasion. The first two are new additions to this list after missing training this week while the last three have been out all season thus far (which is now a month old). Oh, and add in Emmanuel Emegha even though he didn’t even merit a mention in the presser.
Choose wisely.
