Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has floated between central midfield and right-back over the years for club and country, but now the 30-year-old will be manning the center of the park once again for Die Mannschaft.
“I’m playing in midfield at FC Bayern, I’m happy that I’ll be playing in midfield here as well. I have the feeling that I can better bring my strengths in midfield because I’m more involved in the game, although I tried to be involved at right-back too. The input to my teammates is also
better from midfield. That’s probably the advantage of the position, even though right-back is also a very interesting position. In general, regardless of the position, I always try to take the positives and implement what the coach demands from me. At the end of the day it’s his decision,” said Kimmich (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
For Kimmich, the qualifiers are important and should not be overlooked.
“The most important thing is to qualify. This [playing qualifiers] is a bit new to us after we played the last tournament at home. You have to perform well and get good results to qualify, that’s what we want to do tomorrow,” Kimmich said. “The last two games in the Nations League were disappointing, both the results and the way we played. It was very different to the games before. It’s true that there were injuries and we didn’t have a lot of time to work together, but we didn’t manage to bring mentality and attitude onto the pitch. It will be very important to show that in every game in the qualifiers.”
Bayern Munich’s summer transfer window is over, but the assessments can now finally begin.
There were big acquisitions, important sales, and devastating misses. This transfer window pretty much had it all, so let’s break it down.
