UEFA have appointed Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic as the man in charge of Wednesday’s match between Real Madrid and Benfica in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 32.
Per Realmadrid.com Slavko Vinčić will referee the match between Real Madrid and Benfica, corresponding to the second leg of the playofffor access to the round of 16 of the Champions League, which will take place at the Bernabéu (Wednesday, 9:00 pm CEST; Orange TV and Movistar Liga de Campeones). The Slovenian will officiate
a match for our team in the top European competition for the fourth time.
Matches refereed for Real Madrid in the Champions League:
– Borussia Dortmund-Real Madrid (0-2). Final 2023/24.
– Real Madrid-Milan (1-3). Group stage 2024/25.
– Real Madrid-Juventus (1-0). Group stage 2025/26.
This will likely be an intense and physical game, given that the tension between the two teams reached the boiling point due to the Prestianni-Vinicius case a week ago. Vincic should be able to handle this situation as he has the experience to control the game.
