Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash with Chelsea FC, things were busy on the training ground. With the exception of players with long-term injuries like Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Hiroki Itō, plus recently banged up Raphaël Guerreiro, the Bavarians are not dealing with any other ailments.
Let’s check in on things…
Davies getting closer to return
According to a report from Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is getting very close to a return to training:
Alphonso Davies trained today
under the supervision of assistant coach Floribert N’Galula. The latter usually oversees the transition from rehab to team training, which is an indication that Davies is getting closer to being re-integrated with the team. Davies seems lively again, setting a good pace in his sprints. He’s also been training with the ball for a month.
Itō also making strides
Hiroki Itō is making progress, too, per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia):
Hiroki Itō worked with new rehab coach Benjamin Sommer today. Bayern are not taking any risks with the Japanese defender and won’t be rushing his comeback.
