“Dominator” is better.
Two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes collides with surging contender and No. 3-ranked Carlos Ulberg in the main event of
UFC Perth this Saturday (Sept. 27, 2025) inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
It’s been a long road back for Reyes, who endured a brutal four-fight skid that included three consecutive knockout losses. That losing streak began with his razor-close split decision defeat to Jon Jones — a fight many fans still believe Reyes should have won.
But looking back, Reyes doesn’t just think he’s recovered. He thinks he’s evolved into a far better version of himself.
“That night when I fought Jon Jones was the best performance of my life, you know, fighting the best fighter and putting it on him like I did,” Reyes told UFC.com. “But honestly, I feel like I’m better now. I’m not back, I’m better. I truly believe every day I’m getting better, and it’s pretty crazy to see because I’ve been in the UFC for nine years, and I’m still getting better. It’s trippy to see on film — I’m speaking objectively, not even subjectively. I’m watching the film, and like I would have beat myself up back then.”
That confidence has translated into results. Reyes has rattled off three straight knockout wins, showing the same dangerous striking and killer instinct that once had him on the doorstep of UFC gold.
Now, standing in his way is Ulberg, who has quietly pieced together the second-longest win streak in the division behind champion Magomed Ankalaev. If Reyes can halt that momentum in enemy territory, he may finally earn another crack at the belt that narrowly slipped through his fingers five years ago.
