I know I’m getting old when I can remember the frequency of these radio deals being struck. On Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns announced a multi-year renewal of their partnerships with Audacy and Good Karma Brands, which sees team-related programming broadcast on both 92.3 the Fan and ESPN 850. The original deal was struck in 2013, and then was extended in 2020.
At the time of that 2020 extension, Crain’s Cleveland had reported that it would run through 2023. However, I could find no record of an announcement
between 2020 and now, so we’ll just assume that the agreement was set to be a little longer. Now, this 2025 renewal is being branded as a “multi-year agreement.” Here are the quotes released by each station manager:
“As another exciting football season approaches, we’re thrilled to share that 92.3 The Fan will proudly continue as the Browns’ flagship station,” said Jeff Miller, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Cleveland. “Our ongoing mission is to enhance the fan experience, offering both exhilarating live game-day action and the compelling stories that happen off the field. As a lifelong Browns fan myself, I’m honored to be a part of 92.3 The Fan and 98.5 WNCX, as we collaborate with the Browns and Good Karma Brands to deliver engaging content to the dedicated listeners who love this team.”
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Cleveland Browns,” said Tom Olson, Market Manager of ESPN Cleveland. “This renewal not only extends our tradition of delivering the excitement of Browns content to our fans, but also opens new opportunities to integrate our local partners directly into the fabric of the play-by-play broadcast.”
The only change with the agreement is that “Cleveland Browns Daily,” which appears on ESPN 850, will shift its timeslot to 3 pm – 5 pm ET this season. The show used to air during the 1 pm – 3 pm timeslot, and is hosted by Nathan Zegura and Beau Bishop.
“Cleveland Browns Daily”, presented by Bally Bet, the team’s weekday program hosted by Nathan Zegura and Beau Bishop, will shift to a 3pm – 5pm ET timeslot after previously airing during the 1pm – 3pm ET window. The show will keep offering comprehensive coverage and analysis, with access to coaches, players, and front office members directly from CrossCountry Mortgage Campus.
