The Miami Dolphins are on the practice fields in Miami Gardens today, continuing their offseason program. Prior to today’s practice, head coach Jeff Hafley met with the media and discussed various topics relating to the team. The first question asked to Miami’s coach was about running back De’Von Achane and the injury that has been bothering him since late last season.
“[Achane] is still recovering [from injury] and will not be a full participant today.”
When pressed further, Hafley went into greater
detail regarding Achane’s absence.
“Last year, if you remember, he missed the last game of the season. You know, he had something in his shoulder that he had to get cleaned up. He did that and he’s rehabbing right now. He’s doing well and you’ll see him out there doing some drills and doing some running around. You just will not see him in full team drills.”
After discussing Achane’s injury status, Hafley was asked about right tackle Austin Jackson and his availability amid another injury scare. Will he practice in full today?
“No, he’ll be doing the same thing [as Achane]. He’s still working. You know, you’ve got to give Austin a lot of credit. Last year he hurt his foot. A lot of guys in that situation would have opted to have surgery and got something done during [the season], but he battled through it. Even through the end there, he fought through it and I give him a lot of credit for that. He obviously had that fixed and he’s on his way to getting better as well.”
