Well, it’s been officially one week since the 2025 Phillies season ended. We’ve all had a little more time to process it, handle it, and attempt to move forward.
How are you holding up? Have you already
started pouring over arbitration deals to plot out payroll before free agency as well as starting to scour rosters to look for trade targets? If you haven’t, it does help erase the image from the end of Game 4 for at least a little bit.
On to the links.
Phillies news:
- Bryce Harper was named a finalist for the National League Gold Glove at first base, the Phillies only nominee for the award this season despite strong cases from Bryson Stott, Trea Turner, and the perpetually overlooked Ranger Suárez.
- Michael Baumann of Fangraphs made a painful comparison but still provided an excellent breakdown of the Phillies roster heading into a critical offseason.
- Jim Bowden of the Athletic offered his plan on how to makeover the Phillies roster. The ideas are thought provoking, in one way or another. ($)
MLB news:
- Cal Raleigh is still fresh in the postseason despite playing 159 games, mostly at catcher. He’s an example of why one-knee catching is actually good.
- You don’t need to be reminded, but the Dodgers’ starting pitching is on an unbelievable heater. ($)
- The Guardians wasted no time on their offseason to do-list, as the team re-signed catcher Austin Hedges to a one-year deal.
