There are times when the baseball calendar crawls to a stop. Employees working for the team are people too and they are likely using some of the time this week to take a break and do family things.
Makes
sense.
The last major transaction in baseball that I can remember during Thanksgiving week was when the Red Sox had Thanksgiving dinner with Curt Schilling to get him to decide that Boston was the place for him. Other than that, transactions at this time feel few and far between.

Phillies news:
- The Arizona Fall League concluded with a victory for the Phillies’ minor leaguers, so let’s look back at how they fared this fall.
MLB news:
- Ryan Helsley was pretty bad last season as a reliever, so instead of doing that, he plans on trying things as a starter ($). The Tigers are interested.
- The Rangers and Mets made a trade of overprice players, swapping Brandon Nimmo and Marcus Semien. Good riddance, Brandon.
- The Orioles have been after Taylor Ward for a while for his power, says Mike Elias. Still don’t make sense of that trade.
- Zac Gallen wants to go back to Arizona, maybe even finish his career there. Lots of details to be worked out for him though.
