The Texans have an above-average tight end in Dalton Schultz. Schultz is a dependable player who consistently makes clutch plays and serves as a reliable safety blanket for quarterback C.J. Stroud.
He is clearly the best tight end on the roster, but the biggest issue last season was the lack of production behind him. The answer to that problem could very well be Marlin Klein, whom Houston drafted in the second round. Klein is a massive target with the ability to make plays whenever he’s on the field.
He has recently been dealing with a minor hamstring injury, but it shouldn’t impact the rest of his offseason.
Klein’s time will come, but Brevin Jordan is another player taking advantage of his opportunities. Jordan is coming off back-to-back season-ending injuries and will be fighting for a roster spot. Whenever he’s been healthy, he’s shown he can make plays, and that’s been the case again this offseason. Like Klein, the biggest key for Jordan will be staying healthy and carrying that momentum into the regular season. He’s well-liked within the organization, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him carve out a role in 2026.
One of the more underrated signings of the offseason was Foster Moreau. He may not offer as much as the others in the passing game, but he’s clearly the Texans’ best blocking tight end and someone who’s willing to do the dirty work. Don’t be surprised if he chips in with a few touchdown catches as well.
Cade Stover has also benefited from Klein’s absence and has quietly put together a solid offseason. He’s looked good in practice and continues to develop.
Overall, the Texans are in a much better position at tight end than they were a year ago, and that’s all you can really ask for. They now have legitimate depth at the position, which should make the offense more versatile and effective as a whole.
