Jon Jones has nothing but good things to say about Nate Diaz following their time coaching on Russian TUF earlier this year, which may surprise some of Diaz’s biggest ride-or-die fans.
In case you missed it, Jones and Diaz helped coach on a reality show for ALF Global, which is more or less a glorified Russian version of The Ultimate Fighter. Jones and Diaz were brought in to add some star power to the show and help coach up some of the fastest rising prospects on the Russian circuit. It seemed like
a good idea on paper.
Unfortunately, Diaz and his teammates ended up getting into a brawl with some of the Russian fighters on set (watch it HERE). Things got so crazy that even Jones had to step in and play peacemaker. As a result, Diaz left the show and AFL Global was forced to find a replacement coach opposite Jones.
At the end of the day, play fighting with Nate Diaz probably isn’t the best idea.
Earlier this week, Jones was asked about Diaz during an interview and had nothing bad to say about the former UFC superstar. In fact, “Bones” challenged the notion that Diaz is a “gangster,” claiming that the Stockton fighter is actually a “really great guy.”

“Nate is not a gangster,” said Jones (via sports24). “Nate Diaz is a professional athlete. I think he’s a father. He’s a coach. He’s a business owner. He’s an entrepreneur. He’s a leader.
“Yeah he smokes weed and he may give you a middle finger, but the guys far from gangster and he’s a really great guy.”
