The Dodgers announced their roster for the National League Championship Series, which will include 13 pitchers and 13 position players against the Milwaukee Brewers. Justin Wrobleski is the extra bulk pitcher for this round, after the Dodgers carried 12 pitchers during the Division Series against the Atlanta Braves.
“I think that length, having a guy that can go two or three, is something where you essentially protect downside on the pitching. As far as handedness, they’re pretty balanced. So that really
doesn’t come into play,” manager Dave Roberts said during Saturday’s workout at American Family Field in Milwaukee. “I think for us it’s more of who can take down a couple innings if something in a medium to lower leverage situation.”
Wrobleski was an All-Star starting pitcher this season, but pitched in shorter, bulk outings during September as preparation for his likely October role.
Hyeseong Kim is the roster casualty, not active for the NLCS after playing one game in the NLDS. Kim pinch-ran in Game 4 and played the final two innings at second base.
Miguel Rojas, who left Game 3 of the NLDS in Atlanta with back and hip soreness, got several days of treatment and is active for the NLCS against the Brewers.
