The No. 2 Texas Longhorns are set to challenge the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens to kick off another week of SEC play. Georgia hosts Texas with an 8-4 record, including a 5-1 mark at home while the steadfast Longhorns remain undefeated at 10-0. Thus far in the 2025 season, Texas has triumphed over eight ranked opponents in 10 games while the Dawgs have only played three top-25 teams.

Georgia has some Dawgs to look out for, beginning with junior outside hitter Bianna Muoneke, who leads the Dawgs offensively with 161 kills, nine service aces, 27 assists, and 93 digs. True freshman setter Chloe Elarton lends a hand with 204 assists, 89 digs, and 7 aces while redshirt sophomore libero Makena Lim holds the backline down with 131 digs, 12 service aces, and 53 assists. Redshirt junior middle blockers Kendal Kemp leads defensively with 57 blocks alongside Tori Harper who has 54 blocks, 16 service aces, and 53 kills for the Dawgs.
The three most recent matches for Georgia were against top-25 teams; No. 3 Kentucky, No. 22 Tennessee, No. 23 Georgia Tech. The Dawgs were swept by the Wildcats and Vols, but able to squeeze by their in-state rivals the Yellow Jackets in five sets. Muoneke was honored with her first SEC Player of the Week award by recording 5.17 points per set while teammate Harper was one of 128 nominees for the Allstate NACDA Good Works Fall team and awarded with the SEC Defensive Player of the Week during the Classic City Clash with 2.10 blocks per set.
Texas has won won 52 out of 57 road matches since 2019 with just seven losses to unranked teams. Leading the Longhorns are junior outside hitter Torrey Stafford, who’s been honored with two AVCA Player of the Week awards on the way to five double-doubles this season, along with true freshman outside hitter Cari Spears, who earned the award during the September 23 week. Junior setter Ella Swindle and true freshman outside hitter Abby Vander Wal have also earned recent SEC weekly honors. The Longhorns have earned 12 weekly awards in just four weeks of competition, including senior libero Emma Halter, who has been recognized numerous times for her defensive abilities as Player and Defensive Player of the Week.
