As the season approaches, let’s take a look at all of the Cats who are getting some pre-season love.
CBS Sports ranked their Top 100 and 1 Players entering the 2025-26 season, and here
are the Cats that were listed:
Otega Oweh: No. 9
Jaland Lowe: No. 35
Jayden Quaintance: No. 52
ESPN also dropped its Top 100 men’s NCAA basketball players ranked going into 2025-26
, and here are the Cats that were listed:Otega Oweh: No. 12
Jayden Quaintance: No. 28
Jaland Lowe: No. 42
At On3, James Fletcher had four Wildcats among his top 100 players:
Otega Oweh: No. 16
Jayden Quaintance: No. 49
Jaland Lowe: No. 52
Mo Dioubate: No. 83
A few takeaways here, first, Otega Oweh, as expected, is one of the most exciting returning players in College Basketball. Oweh made a huge splash last year with the Cats, and with this being year 2 in the Pope system, watch out.
Second, it’s interesting to see Quaintance and Lowe essentially swapped on CBS Sports and ESPN. I think both are crucial, but I lean more towards ESPN’s rankings. Quaintance is a sleeping giant, and when he wakes up… It’s going to be scary.
Third, no Jasper Johnson is shocking. Johnson came in as a Five-Star and top-20 guy.
With all that said, it’s still preseason. Nothing matters until we get these games rolling. November 4th can’t come soon enough!
