The San Francisco 49ers’ injury report is out for Thursday, and there were a few changes. As always, Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams were full participants after having their typical veteran day off.
However, there were four changes to Thursday’s injury report, including a few new additions. Linebacker Dee Winters was downgraded to a DNP from a limited participant. The same is true for rookie defensive tackle Alfred Collins, who popped up on Thursday’s report with a hip injury.
Another starter, Kalia Davis, was also new. He was listed as limited with an ankle injury. Finally —and perhaps most importantly —Keion White was listed as a limited participant due to a groin injury. This comes after Bryce Huff returned from a hamstring injury after missing two games.
The last place the 49ers can afford to suffer injuries is along the defensive line. So, naturally, that’s where the three latest injuries occurred.
This could be the team being precautionary, understanding that there is little to no depth behind these players. Thursdays are a physical practice, and the last thing you want is for an injury to get worse during practice.
