Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in
Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. The lone question in this week’s Seahawks Reacts survey asked whether the Seattle Seahawks will select an edge rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft. Seattle’s defensive line was a big reason the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2025…I’ll never get tired of writing that! However,
the strength of that unit came from the interior with another standout season from Leonard Williams and a breakout one from Byron Murphy.
Seattle’s edge rushers contributed in their own right, but are down a man with Boye Mafe about to get as much Skyline Chili as he can handle after leaving for the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency. Thus far, the Seahawks haven’t made a move to replace him. Perhaps that will come in the draft?
Seahawks fans certainly think so with 87% predicting that John Schneider will address the edge rusher deficiency within the first two days of the upcoming draft! Another 8% expect a late-round selection with only 5% thinking that Seattle will use their (currently) four draft picks elsewhere.
Edge rush prospects have been coming in hot and heavy to the VMAC, with another group visiting recently. The Seahawks are clearly doing their due diligence on the position as it’s one of the few that can use an upgrade in an already stacked defense. Whether they address the position by selecting one during the 2026 NFL Draft or other means (the Maxx Crosby trade dream still lives!) remains to be seen.
Whatever approach the front office takes, we’ll keep you updated here at Field Gulls!
