Manchester United will complete the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba, per multiple reports, after agreeing to a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion this week. The Reds reportedly reached a deal on a £70m total package, including £65m with £5m in add ons, per David Ornstein.
Baleba will travel to Manchester and finalize the medical and personal terms on Saturday.
The 22-year-old midfielder was a major target at the deadline last year, but wasn’t able to secure a dream move to Old Trafford until a year later. He joins Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as the midfield reinforcements for the new season, and completes the trio of expected signings as the enforcer profile the club was looking for after the departure of Casemiro and injury to Manuel Ugarte.
Baleba joined Brighton in 2023 after emerging at Lille in Ligue 1 and quickly drew praise for his fast start to life in England. He made 112 appearances for the Seagulls.
