The bombshell reports keep dropping for Bayern Munich when it comes to Michael Olise.
The Frenchman rumored desire to leave Bavaria in favor of Real Madrid has been confirmed by Bild journalists Julian Agardi, Nico Linner, Michel Schröer, and Heiko Niedderer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). However, Olise might not try to force an exit and become a problem for the club. Instead, Bayern Munich will continue to push to have him sign a contract extension:
According to @BILD, Michael Olise did indeed tell
his teammates in the French national team about his desire to leave Bayern and join Real Madrid. But Bayern remain determined to keep the player and would ideally like to extend his contract by offering him more than €25m gross per year and thus making him one of the top earners. As things stand, it’s unlikely that Olise would force his way out, as he’s not known for being a troublemaker and is generally happy at the club.
What happens from here will be interesting. Will Olise or his agent formally inform Bayern Munich of his intention to leave? Will this fester and become a point of distraction throughout the preseason? Or…is this an elaborate ploy being played out through the media to expedite contract extension negotiations? Maybe worse, is this all just media-generated hysteria?
Stay tuned as this figures to be a story that will not go away quickly.
